Brief assessment
from Navigator AI
A tense, story-first sequel packed with tactile puzzles, actor-led hinting, and a gritty basement vibe. Go if you enjoy pressure, interaction, and playing it right after Chapter 1 for a bigger payoff.

Overview of artificial intelligence

AIPlayers highlight a high puzzle count and a brisk pace, with a structure that begins linear and opens up later. The in-room actor and organic clue system earn consistent praise, as do the engaged staff. Immersion runs deep—intense enough that one player felt shaken—in a good way. A few note the plot beats feel close to Chapter 1, and one mentions a cool historic venue setting at Ft Amherst.
WeaknessesSome find it too similar to Chapter 1’s storyline. The intensity and time pressure can overwhelm, especially for solo players. It shines most as a 2–3 person team rather than a lone run.
StrengthsAtmospheric set, strong storytelling, and tactile, rewarding puzzles. The actor interaction and clue delivery feel natural and elevate the experience. Staff energy and hosting get shout-outs.
SecurityNo safety issues are mentioned in the reviews; staff presence feels attentive and supportive. Space is intentionally confined but monitored, and help arrives quickly when requested.
Level of fearCreepy and immersive rather than gory, but the tension is real; one reviewer felt slightly traumatized from the intensity. Probably fine for teens who like a scare, less ideal for younger kids or the very skittish.
Actors' gameMultiple reviews mention an in-game actor who responds when you ask the right questions, making hints feel diegetic. The interaction is called clever and adds personality without breaking immersion.
Quality of riddlesLots of puzzles with fair logic and a tactile feel; it starts linear, then turns into parallel tracks. Expect to divide and conquer near the end and keep communication tight.
PlotA continuation of The Cabin that drops you into a hidden basement where escape under pressure is the goal. Some feel the story echoes Chapter 1, but it still delivers momentum and stakes.
Difficulty levelHigh puzzle density and a firm clock make this best for groups with some experience. Solo is doable with nudges, yet 2–3 players is the sweet spot for pace and coverage.

I adored both the game and the venue. I went solo but would suggest 2–3 people, and the setting inside an actual 18th century Guard House of Ft Amherst is unforgettable. Staff were engaged, and there’s an in-game actor who helps if you ask the right things.

Tried it solo and scraped through with a few nudges. There’s a lot to do, so 2–3 players would be ideal. Good flow, clever reveals, and zero filler.

I had a great time, but the story felt a bit like Chapter 1’s cousin. That said, the build is quality, puzzles are fair, and the GM’s energy is top-notch.

Came in with big expectations after Chapter 1. I enjoyed it, though the storyline felt a little too close to the first chapter. Still a quality room with an enthusiastic GM/owner.

The Basement shot straight into my favorites list. I left a bit rattled, but only because the story swallowed me whole.
