AI Overview

AIMost players rave about the immersive mid‑west vibe, scent work, and set detail, with a story that threads through and ramps up near the end. Puzzles are varied, largely logical, and a bit padlock‑heavy, with a mostly linear flow that keeps teams moving. Hosting and hint timing get frequent praise. A minority felt the set was small, red herrings wasted time, and the scares or story depth underwhelmed.
WeaknessesExpect lots of locks and a fair bit of searching, which some found repetitive. A few red herrings pop up, and one team mentioned a luck-based final moment. One outlier called it a small set with thin story development.
StrengthsAtmosphere is top-tier, from the set dressing to the smells that sell the world. Puzzle flow feels clean and purposeful, and the narrative actually progresses. Game masters are on it and step in right when needed.
SecurityNo safety concerns were raised in the reviews. Clear briefings and responsive hosts keep play smooth and comfortable.
Level of fearCreepy and tense rather than extreme; no gore mentioned. Most teens and adults should be fine, though very skittish players might squirm.
Actors' gameNo live actors are mentioned. Interaction is mainly via attentive game masters and a tidy hint system, which several reviews praised.
Quality of riddlesA mix of observation, searching, classic padlocks, and a few physical moments; clues read fair and logical. The flow leans linear so you’re rarely stuck, though search-heavy spots can slow progress. Occasional red herrings appear but don’t dominate.
PlotYou take a wrong turn off Route 66 and stumble into a place you probably shouldn’t explore, with the narrative unfolding room by room. Most players noticed steady story beats and a satisfying finish.
Difficulty levelMid-range overall and friendly to mixed-experience teams. Newcomers may want a hint or two, while enthusiasts will enjoy the momentum and volume of tasks.

Our GM was fantastic—calm nudges at just the right moments—and the story actually builds as you go. We left grinning and talking about the ending all the way home. Totally worth the drive.

Fantastic theming and narrative with loads to unlock and discover. The way the story evolved was great, and Alex’s hosting sealed it as one of our top picks.

First of three Compendium rooms we played that day and it set the tone. Lots of puzzle variety, mostly classic padlocks that fit the theme, stellar set detail and smells, and a flow that made sense. Big thanks to our GM Luke for making it shine.

Solid room with great hosting and a nice narrative thread. There are a lot of padlocks and a couple of red herrings, but the puzzles make sense and it all flows. Fun night out.

Creepy, authentic atmosphere that drops you into an American Midwest setting. Standout detail work and an impressive range of puzzles.

Loved how smoothly it ran; the linear stretches meant we always had direction and never stalled. Set design pops, and there’s a broad mix of puzzles and locks to keep everyone engaged. Can’t wait to return to Compendium.

Loads of atmosphere and a clever story throughout. We needed a couple of gentle nudges and scraped out with minutes to spare after a bizarre lucky break at the end; hosting was spot on. Easy to recommend.

Felt cramped and padded with decoys, with not many real puzzles to solve. The story didn’t go anywhere for me and it ended up dull for a horror‑leaning theme.

The scent work and dusty midwest set had me hooked from the first minute, and the story kept tightening right to a neat finish. Properly immersive and plenty to chew on without being unfair. Loved it.

I expected bigger scares and more content. The set felt small and a few dead ends ate time. Not terrible, just not my vibe.

Had just as much fun here as in the much-lauded UI55. The theming is strong and the puzzles flow nicely from start to finish.
