About the escape room
Another highly immersive game designed by the team at Riddlr. Step back in time to 1986 - Face a snarky Zoltar machine - Direct Pac Man through a maze - Answer the Troll's riddles in Zork - all this and more in a beautifully presented room with a great 80's themed soundtrack. Can you and your team race through this gratuitous eighties-fest and escape back to the present day?

AI Overview

AIMost players praise the nostalgic theme, upbeat music, and friendly staff. Puzzle quality is mixed, with some memory or brute‑force tasks dividing opinion and a posted solve order that some dislike. The set looks fun but a few comments call it a bit basic or dusty, and the story feels light. Overall tone is positive, with more 4–5 star reviews than not.
WeaknessesA memory‑heavy battleship puzzle and other rote tasks like counting, binary, or clock‑setting are frequent gripes. The fixed puzzle order on the wall feels restrictive to some, and there are occasional polish issues like dim screens or light dust.
StrengthsStrong 80s vibe with interactive set pieces and a great soundtrack. Varied puzzles that get multiple people involved, and staff get repeated shout‑outs for being lovely and helpful.
SecurityStandard briefing and supervision implied, with no safety concerns raised. One note about dust and general wear is about cleanliness, not hazards.
Level of fearNot scary at all and suitable for families and kids. Think arcade nostalgia, not horror.
Actors' gameNo live actors called out, but game hosts get high marks for being welcoming and supportive. Interaction is mostly with props and tech rather than performers.
Quality of riddlesA broad mix of classic and techy challenges, with fun moments like the Pac‑Man magnet maze. Some puzzles skew brute‑force or memory‑based and can feel like time sinks, and one computer segment suffered from brightness issues. Fair overall but uneven in ambition and polish.
PlotThe narrative is light; it’s more a sprint through 80s set pieces than a deep story. The focus is on playful challenges rather than plot.
Difficulty levelMid‑range with a guided puzzle order that helps newer teams. Enthusiasts may breeze through familiar logic but can stall on the memory segments.

If you grew up on coin‑ops, this is a treat. The Pac‑Man magnet bit was a grin from start to finish, and the soundtrack slapped. Hosts were lovely and on it. We left humming synths.

The room felt basic and a bit grubby, with theming that would shine more if it were cleaned up. The memory‑style battleship puzzle was the low point and ate around 15 minutes, while the Pac‑Man magnet maze was the highlight. Other puzzles were okay, but Simon Says and the Zork computer segment needed better execution, and the RPG screen was too dim. The flow issues show, given there’s an order pos

We finished this today and had a good time, but it didn’t hit the heights of Riddlr’s Hansel and Gretel for us. A few tasks felt like straight memory or brute force, which isn’t our thing. The more standard puzzles went down easy. Cozy vibe, fun soundtrack—yes, we danced a little—and the staff were excellent as always.

Perfect family outing. Loads of hands‑on bits so nobody was standing around, and zero scares which our youngest appreciated. Left buzzing and quoting the 80s refs.

We enjoyed the game overall, but I really didn’t like that the suggested solving order on the wall wasn’t optional. Aside from that, the room and puzzles were nicely themed.

Loved the Zork throwback, though the screen was a touch dim until the GM nudged us. Still, we laughed a lot and the music kept the energy up. Solid night out.

Had fun, though the fixed puzzle order on the wall made it feel a bit on‑rails. As a team of four we still got plenty to do and the 80s nods landed. Would recommend to casual groups.

Theme idea is great, but the set felt tired and that memory battleship puzzle dragged. The rest was fine, nothing wow. Worth a tidy‑up and rethink.

Big fan of the 80s theme. The clue system that tells you which puzzle to do next is different and works, though it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

If you love the 80s, this hits. Lots of variety, with puzzles that get more than one person involved, and a nice blend of tech and physical. Just a fun time for all ages.

Really fun for puzzle lovers and 80s fans alike. Tons of interactive challenges and not much story, which honestly didn’t matter. There are a few goofy distractions too.

Nostalgic tunes and on‑theme puzzles, but it felt a bit light on content. Compared with other rooms here, the theme didn’t land as strongly.

Fun set and solid 80s vibe. Good mix of puzzles and only one really stumped us. All in all, a good laugh.
