Company Houdini's Escape Room Experience

We arrived early and found no staff around, started late, and the sign-in iPad barely worked. Inside, our GM flooded us with instructions over the radio for the first half hour, even after we’d said we were experienced, which ruined the discovery. The theming landed and several puzzles were fun, but some props were broken and one puzzle had pieces missing—apparently swept up by a cleaner. Our GM felt off, slow on clues, and sometimes jumped in over the tannoy with direct instructions, which hurt the immersion. The ending fizzled out and we didn’t realise we’d finished until the GM walked in. Still enjoyable overall, just needs tweaks.

The Titanic-themed escape was fantastic, and game master Arthi made it shine. She was warm, helpful, and the puzzles hit that sweet spot of challenging but engaging. The room’s detail was so convincing we felt like we were actually on board. Highly recommend for Titanic fans or anyone up for an exciting room.

Service let this one down for us. The entrance wasn’t signed, the clock policy felt unforgiving, and after a long intro we were told we only had about 40 minutes despite arriving before the cutoff. We ended on the dot, weren’t allowed to see the finale, and it felt like the host just wanted to wrap and go home, which was rough for our first-timer.

I really enjoyed it and my first-timer friend was buzzing, plus the little vertical sections were fun. Themed safety brief was a nice touch, and the GM stayed in character and cheered our progress. The finale had good logic but one step leaned on memory; we didn’t use the walkie. A door was left open and quickly fixed, and a couple of parts felt like once-techy puzzles now simplified. We tackled the Titanic escape with my daughter and four of her friends for her 10th birthday, and it was brilliant. The guide was excellent, offering gentle prompts at the right moments, and the kids completed the mission. The room was well thought out and we all had a blast. Wholehearted recommendation from us.

A mixed bag but I still had a good time. The host was upbeat and full of Titanic facts, though a bit too quick with yes/no dings and phone hints, so we ended up whispering to avoid spoilers. The vertical, multi-room layout is fantastic and the nautical puzzles are smart, yet several elements didn’t function as intended, leaving lots of “this would’ve been awesome” moments. This landed at the bottom of my list. Parts were clearly broken, leftover items muddied the logic, and the flow never found its groove. The few working puzzles were too easy, the ending fizzled, and the GM seemed to paper over faulty gear. We won’t be back for the other rooms.

We’ve done quite a few rooms, and this Titanic set is up there with the best. Four of us (two adults, two teens) finished in just under 40 minutes with a couple of hints, and Willow balanced giving us space with stepping in perfectly. Loads of little surprises; we’ll be back for the other room.

Brilliant time in the Titanic room in Crewe. Leon was a top game master—just enough nudges—and we escaped with six minutes left. Eyeing up Escape from Alcatraz next.
