About the escape room
After a wild night out in Birmingham, you’re desperate to make it home to Shrewsbury. Your golden ticket? The Shrewsbury Express—a train so iconic, so reliable, it’s never missed a departure in its history. Until now…
At New Street Station, pandemonium erupts: trains screech to a halt, announcements spiral into nonsense, and the vending machine explodes with sparks. Onboard the once-proud Shrewsbury Express, disaster strikes – doors slam shut on their own, alarms echo through the carriages, and the conductor is hurled off somewhere near Wolverhampton. But the real threat looms in the shadows: Transport for Snails, creeping ever closer, ready to seize your route if you don’t restore order. You have 75 minutes to save the Express, outwit the slimy invaders, and reclaim your journey home – or risk crawling at a snail’s pace forever!

AI Overview
AIReviews rave about the immersion, the witty live acting, and the sheer fun of the experience. Puzzles are lighter and very on-theme, occasionally taking a back seat to the comedy and story beats. A few players hit technical hiccups that dulled the finish, but most still left buzzing. It suits non-horror fans, works for couples, and scales comfortably for bigger teams.
WeaknessesSome groups reported broken or misfiring elements and a slightly bewildering end. Puzzle depth is modest, which may underwhelm hardcore solvers. The chaos can occasionally blur the logic flow.
StrengthsStandout theming and a clever train narrative create instant buy-in. The performers and hosts elevate every moment and keep momentum high. Many call it a hidden gem and one of their top UK rooms.
SecurityNo safety concerns were raised in reviews, and the team is described as attentive and supportive. The wild moments are clearly performed and supervised, not hazardous.
Level of fearNot a scary room; the actor interaction is playful rather than creepy. Teens handled it well, and it reads as family-friendly with comic mayhem over frights.
Actors' gameLive actors get consistent praise for being funny, warm, and sharply interactive without overstepping. They keep the pace brisk and help stitch clues, story, and players together.
Quality of riddlesThe puzzles feel fair and thematically linked, with a mix of locks and interactive tasks. They skew lighter than average, prioritizing flow and comedy over head-scratchers. A few reports mention malfunctioning props that disrupted solves.
PlotNew Street Station is in meltdown and The Shrewsbury Express has gone rogue; you’ve got 75 minutes to steady the train and fend off Transport for Snails. Expect a tongue-in-cheek rescue mission rather than a grim thriller.
Difficulty levelApproachable for newcomers and mixed groups; a duo can finish comfortably. Enthusiasts may find the puzzle load light, but the pace and interaction keep it engaging.
