AI Overview

AIPlayers rave about the immersive set and the variety of puzzles, from classic locks to techy and hands-on moments. Hosting—especially by Chris—earns consistent praise for maintaining the vibe. Difficulty trends high but fair thanks to clear logic and signposting. Minor gripes include dim spots, a couple of ambiguous clues, and one reported reset slip that hurt immersion for that team.
WeaknessesLighting dips mean you may use torches at times. A few clues can read more than one way, and there was an isolated reset miss with an unlocked padlock and pre-placed cog. Expect more directional locks than average, which not everyone loves.
StrengthsRich theming, cohesive flow, and a dense set packed with satisfying interactions. Strong variety with directional locks and physical mechanisms that feel fresh. Hosting elevates the experience and keeps momentum without breaking the narrative.
SecurityNo hazards flagged; physical tasks don’t require strength. Some areas are dim, but torches are provided and the experience feels controlled and safe.
Level of fearNot a horror room; tension comes from exploration, not jump scares. Suitable for families and teens, though younger kids may need help with reading and tougher logic.
Actors' gameChris gets shout-outs for excellent, atmosphere-first hosting and quick, professional handling of issues. Interaction is supportive rather than theatrical, keeping focus on the game.
Quality of riddlesAbundant, logical, and diverse puzzles blend traditional locks, directional inputs, and neat physical mechanisms. Signposting is praised so solves feel earned, with only a couple of tasks reading ambiguously. Flow is strong and rarely stalls.
PlotYou follow your archaeologist father’s trail into the legend of Catequil, with the story threading naturally through the spaces. The narrative guides progression without heavy exposition.
Difficulty levelLeans hard but remains fair, ideal for enthusiasts. Newer teams can still succeed with teamwork and timely nudges.

Really enjoyed it. Big, detailed set with a few dim sections where we used torches. Reading was just enough, the logic flowed, and the physical puzzles were clever without needing strength—with more directional locks than usual.

Loved the sense of discovery and how the space kept opening up. Directional locks actually made sense here, the mechanisms were classy, and the story mattered. We left grinning.

We walked in to find a padlock already open and a cog already placed, which killed the flow for us. Chris apologised, but being told these slips happen didn’t soften the blow. We’ve had higher standards at Enigma before.

Beautifully built and properly immersive. A couple of puzzles felt open to multiple readings, but the mechanisms were excellent and the rest landed perfectly.

Cracking room overall, though a few corners were darker than I prefer so the torches got a workout. Set design is lush and most puzzles clicked first time.

One task felt like it had two valid readings which slowed us, but once it landed the logic tracked. Loved the blend of old-school locks and stealthy tech.

Big adventure vibes and solves that link beautifully. The hands-on moments were a joy and didn’t need muscle, just focus.
