AI Overview

AIPlayers rave about the immersive Egyptian set, complete with sand and strong audio/visual touches, and many highlight exceptional in-character hosting. Puzzles skew tactile and environmental, with some saying they’re simpler or weaker than other games at the venue, though still satisfying once you find the flow. A few mention minor tech wobbles and that the space is largely one area with no hidden room. Groups of six feel cramped; smaller teams tend to click faster, especially after using the manual to set the order.
WeaknessesSome found the puzzle set less robust compared with other Escapement rooms and a bit linear once you follow the manual. Occasional tech hiccups cropped up, and the space can feel tight with large groups. No hidden room left a few wanting more scope.
StrengthsAtmosphere is top-tier, from the set dressing to the sand underfoot. Hosts are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and elevate the experience. The room uses its space cleverly with tactile, thematic interactions that feel classic in a good way.
SecurityExpect real sand and low light; wear comfy shoes and be ready to get a bit dusty. Standard briefings and clue support keep things on track.
Level of fearNot a scare-fest—more adventurous than frightening. Suitable for families and kids who don’t mind dim light and a moody Anubis vibe.
Actors' gameMultiple reviews praise the host being in character, upbeat, and deeply engaged. Post-game debriefs with lore and explanations get specific shout-outs.
Quality of riddlesMainly tactile and environment-driven with some neat set pieces; clarity improves once you follow the manual’s order. Overthinkers can tie themselves in knots, but the logic is fair. Difficulty sits mid-range with a couple of unique moments rather than heavy brain-burners.
PlotRestore the canopic jars to appease Anubis and help Ramses pass to the afterlife so you can escape. The clue system and tasks feed naturally into that arc without heavy exposition.
Difficulty levelMid-level and friendlier to small teams; 2–4 players feels ideal. Big groups may idle and overthink before the order clicks via the manual.

We had a small tech blip on one prop, but the host handled it in character and kept us smiling. The tomb look is ace, and the clue delivery ties nicely into the story.

Set mostly in a single area but used smartly, with tactile tasks and crisp audio/visual moments. The theme is spot-on, and yes, you’ll likely leave sandy. Easy to overthink, yet we still had a great time. Tom wrapped it up with a fantastic, history-packed walkthrough.

Fully immersive build with a cool spread of puzzles. We stumbled at the start until we realized the manual sets the order, then it all clicked. The sand added to the vibe, and I liked how the story ties into hints.

Very cool space with a few standout puzzles and a fun character host. Missed having a hidden room and wished the footprint were bigger. We took six and that felt crowded.

Getting sandy and invoking the Egyptian gods was a blast. The design is awesome with great props and an original concept. I preferred other Escapement games since I didn’t gel with these puzzles, but plenty of folks say this is their favorite. The overall quality at the venue is sky high.

Great immersion and a proper classic escape vibe. Some puzzles felt a bit light, but the game never stopped being fun. Wouldn’t go with six again—four was perfect.

Probably the lightest puzzle-wise at The Escapement, yet still my favourite there thanks to how the environment drives the solves and an unreal host who stayed perfectly in character the whole time.

Loved the sandy set and the way everything felt touchable and real. Once we clocked the manual’s order, the room flowed and we hit a great rhythm. Host was brilliant from start to finish.

Despite being rated lower at the venue, it was great fun. The theming is excellent across the board and easily our favorite Egyptian room to date.

Atmosphere for days and a host who really sold the myth. Not scary, just tense and adventurous. Walked out dusty and happy.

Lots to crack and a sharp aesthetic. It scratches that classic escape itch nicely and kept us busy.

Strong theming, sand and all, and some cool interactions. I didn’t fully click with the puzzle style, though the logic was fair. Still glad we played it.
