AI Overview

AIPlayers rave about the immersive set, period props, and how clues are naturally woven into the world. Difficulty swings from quick wins to proper head-scratchers, with clear signposting that still leaves room for aha moments. Hosting gets consistent praise for gentle nudges rather than heavy-handed hints. Several folks even rank it above the venue’s other rooms, including 51.5, and call it a Halifax favorite.
WeaknessesSome puzzles are very sneaky or search-heavy, which can stall momentum. A few teams needed a lot of nudges to progress, so beginners may feel the spikes.
StrengthsTop-tier theming and story integration keep you in the world from start to finish. Varied, fair puzzles deliver satisfying breakthroughs, and the hosting style lets you solve in your own time.
SecurityBriefings are clear and staff keep eyes on the team throughout, ready to help. Reviews raise no safety concerns.
Level of fearNot a horror experience—think tense gangster caper, not jump scares. Family-friendly tone, though younger kids may need help tackling the tougher logic.
Actors' gameHosts like Sam, Anne, and Angela earn glowing shout-outs for being friendly, funny, and perfectly timed with hints. Interaction is light-touch and supportive, stepping in only when you truly need it.
Quality of riddlesA balanced blend of observation, logic, and multi-step deduction, with several clues cleverly concealed in the environment. Signposting is clear without spoon-feeding, and solutions feel fair when they click.
PlotYou’re North Side recruits pulling a risky lift right under Al Capone’s nose. It plays like a classic caper with rising stakes and a neat surprise tucked inside.
Difficulty levelSkews moderate-to-hard, rewarding methodical groups and good communication. Newer players can absolutely enjoy it but should expect to lean on hints now and then.

This game is superb. We originally came for 51.5 but ended up liking this even more—the setting and story are fantastic with very clear signposting. Puzzles landed perfectly and Anne’s hosting was spot-on, giving us space to figure things out and nudging only when we needed it. A very different story to 51.5 and highly recommended.

From the first lock to the last reveal, this felt like a proper 1920s caper. The set is gorgeous, the puzzles are fair, and our host let us sweat a little before nudging at just the right time. We left buzzing.

My first escape room ever and Angela, the owner, ran it wonderfully—so friendly and funny. The theme was spot-on and I felt whisked back in time. I enjoyed it so much I went on to play all four of their games, and I can’t wait for their new Area 51.5 to open.

Huge thanks to Sam, who hosted brilliantly. We escaped in 51 minutes and could’ve shaved time without a couple of daft missteps. Mix of very tough and straightforward puzzles if you’ve got the eye—great flow and content throughout.

Came for 51.5, stayed for this—and we ended up preferring Operation Moonshine. Great signposting, slick puzzles, and a cheeky twist tucked in. Superb hosting, too.

Such a good game. The concept lands, the execution is tight, and there’s a great surprise inside. Our host was fantastic and always ready when we needed a hand—still one of my absolute favorites.

First escape room for our little crew and it was a blast. Not scary at all, just tense in a fun way, and the host was kind and patient with our overthinking. We actually solved more than we expected!

Loved the vibe and story, though some hides were super sneaky and slowed us down. We took a handful of nudges but nothing felt unfair. Would happily recommend to thoughtful teams.

Another excellently designed room from this company. It’s quite challenging and we ended up needing about nine nudges to keep moving.
