About the escape room
Ready to blast off into the future? Board a stranded starship in Mary, the most immersive sci-fi escape room Derby has to offer, and secure the cosmic fuel we need to save time travel. The Mission: The Great Galactic Crystal Shortage Our time engine runs entirely on glowing Miltron crystals, which we’ve always sourced from an aging mining spaceship in the deep future. Our payment of choice? A few standard bars of chocolate. It was a flawless business model—until the crystals suddenly stopped arriving and the ship went completely dead silent. The time portal is still holding open, so we need a crew to teleport onto the starship, figure out why the supply line collapsed, and bring back enough crystals to keep our facility running. It should be a standard salvage operation. Just don’t push any buttons you aren’t supposed to. Expect a heavy dose of futuristic atmosphere and a creeping sense of sci-fi dread as you explore the starship. The onboard security system is notoriously glitchy, and you will definitely feel the tension mount as you realize something is tracking your every move through the metallic corridors. Expect a brilliant, immersive space atmosphere as you explore the aging starship. You’ll definitely feel the excitement build as your team tries to bypass the ship’s glitchy security system, but don’t worry—the game is completely family-friendly with nothing too scary. There are zero horror elements or jump-scares here, just fantastic sci-fi puzzle-solving.

AI Overview

AIPlayers consistently praise the immersive future setting and the upbeat, slightly silly tone. Hosts stay in character and pace the experience well, with hints landing only when asked for. Puzzles skew varied and hands-on with solid flow, though seasoned teams may breeze through. A few mention tech hiccups where sensors didn’t fire and the GM stepped in.
WeaknessesDifficulty leans easy for veterans, and one group hit nonresponsive clues that forced manual guidance. Occasional over-hinting can soften the challenge if you prefer to grind it out. Light crawling could be awkward for injuries or limited mobility.
StrengthsStandout hosting that feels like part of the show. Fun, thematic puzzles with a mix of tactile tasks and giggle-worthy bits. Smooth progression keeps the room moving without dead time.
SecurityMostly non-physical with a touch of crawling; speak up if that’s an issue and the team will adapt. Clear briefing and responsive hosting keep things comfortable.
Level of fearNot scary at all—more chuckles than chills—so it’s fine for families and first-timers. Expect playful antics, not horror.
Actors' gameGame masters commit to the bit, from a funny intro to in-character nudges that keep momentum. Interaction feels tailored, with help arriving only when you want it.
Quality of riddlesA lively mix of familiar mechanics dressed in shiny, spacey flavor, plus a few hands-on gags. Logic reads fair, and the room’s flow makes solutions feel earned rather than handed over. Tech is generally reliable, though one review flagged a couple of stubborn triggers.
PlotYou’re rocketing to the future to figure out why the crystal supply ran dry and to nab a few for the time engine. Light-hearted sci-fi hijinks steer the mission without heavy lore.
Difficulty levelEasy to medium overall—great for newer players and mixed groups. Experienced escapers may clear it quickly but still enjoy the charm.

Hosts were on fire—funny, in character, and somehow always popped up with exactly the right nudge. The set sells the whole space-jump vibe, and the flow never stalled. We left grinning and already debating our next room.

Great date night pick—light, colorful, and not scary at all. There’s a short crawl that I managed fine, and everything else is brainy rather than brawny. Hosts were lovely and kept hints minimal.

Marcus set the tone with a funny intro and only stepped in when we truly needed a hint. Lots of variety, including comedic beats and hands-on tasks, and the space is used smartly.

So much fun from start to finish—yes, we sang and maybe screamed a little. There’s a bit of crawling, which I noticed with a sore toe, but otherwise it’s not physical at all.

Good energy and a cool theme, but a couple sensors didn’t trigger so the GM had to step in with a quick fix. Still had fun, just felt a bit easy for our group.

If you like your sci‑fi with a wink, this is your jam. Tactile puzzles, shiny futurism, and a couple of ridiculous moments that had us howling. We finished with time to spare and zero stress.

Felt very easy for us, and a few clues didn’t respond so the GM jumped in with a scan-style update. Still an enjoyable run, just lighter than expected.

A fun trip to the future full of wacky problems, and we left with huge smiles. Some familiar puzzle styles get a shiny, spacey twist. Definitely worth a play.
