About the escape room
Anna and Max have the kind of relationship everyone pretends to find annoying. But really, their friends are just a little bit jealous. Because you can see how much these two people are meant to be together. They just - fit. Anna is daring and inquisitive, Max is sensible. She encourages him to try new things. He stops her from doing stupid stuff. Usually. But not today. Maybe it's the sunshine. Maybe it's the wine. Because today, when Anna finds a randomly-unlocked shutter on a random side street, Max isn't quick enough to persuade her not to go inside. His mind is on the picnic they've just had, the kisses they've shared. So what if Anna is intent on seeking out some new dark and gloomy place to scare him with. It's just Anna being Anna, right? This is why he loves her. It's just an adventure. A dare. It'll be OK. And then the shutter bangs down, and everything is very far from OK.

AI Overview

AIPlayers consistently call it terrifying and fun, with the live actor stealing the show. Puzzle feedback is mixed, ranging from easy or a bit janky to genuinely engaging, and the story feels light to some. The space is small and the timer rules can be strict, which a few teams disliked. Several guests returned for the new version and felt it’s improved over the old run.
WeaknessesSpace can feel cramped, the narrative is thin for story-first players, and puzzle quality varies. A strict no-overrun policy frustrated at least one team.
StrengthsHuge scare factor with a strong, playful actor presence and a tense, immersive mood. The revamp is widely seen as a step up, and the room creates memorable moments, especially when someone gets singled out.
SecurityStaff presence and briefing are implied, and reviews don’t mention contact or safety issues. It’s dark and compact, so mind your footing and follow instructions.
Level of fearHigh-intensity horror with frequent jump scares and chase-and-hide pressure; not kid-friendly and tough on nervous players. If you don’t enjoy being scared, this isn’t your room.
Actors' gameThe live actor drives the experience, mixing menace with cheeky interaction and sometimes zeroing in on a ‘sacrifice’ for extra tension. Most praise the performance as the highlight.
Quality of riddlesExpect a spread from straightforward to mildly head-scratching, with occasional janky moments. The pressure from the actor can make simple steps feel harder, and a late puzzle can bottleneck a run. Puzzle hunters may want more finesse, but many teams still felt engaged.
PlotYou’re essentially trapped in a butcher’s lair trying to get out before he gets you. The narrative sits in the background while the slasher-movie atmosphere does the heavy lifting.
Difficulty levelOverall moderate and sometimes on the easier side, but the fear factor ramps up the challenge. Newer teams can cope if they handle scares; purists chasing deep logic chains may find it light.

We loved it so much we went three times—twice in the old setup and once after the refresh. Puzzles were on the easy side, but the fear factor had us hiding more than solving. If you want pure scares, this delivers.

Tried it back in 2019 and failed, came back for the revamped run and finally redeemed ourselves. The butcher went hard on scares, especially after picking a ‘sacrifice,’ which weirdly made it funnier. Puzzles got our brains going and the upgrade over the old version is obvious. If you’re into serial-killer vibes and jump scares, this absolutely hits.

Great time if you like horror; if you don’t, skip it. We were stuck on the final puzzle and the host wouldn’t let us run a minute over, which was disappointing. Still left shaking and grinning because it scared the daylights out of me.

Tiny footprint but big atmosphere. We had one sticky lock and a clue that felt clunky, yet the rest flowed and the chase moments turned my brain to mush in the best way.

If you want story beats, look elsewhere. Puzzles were hit and miss and we got cut off right on the last code, which stung. Still, it did make me jump more than once.

The butcher picked me as the ‘sacrifice’ and I yelped, hid, and laughed my way through the hour. Genuinely scary, super interactive, and our team photos say it all.

Didn’t quite escape but had a riot. Actor energy carries the room, and once the lights drop you forget how simple some steps are because your heart is hammering.

Cramped room with almost no story, light scares, and clumsy puzzles. It felt thrown together and not worth the price.

Good experience overall. Some puzzles felt a bit janky, but they worked, and the immersion was decent. The live actor is the star of the show.

White-knuckle from the first bang of the shutter. The actor hunted us hard and somehow still made it weirdly funny, and the new version felt way tighter than what my friends remember from years ago. Not subtle, just a blast.

Ridiculously scary. I froze up and basically hid in a corner the whole time. Haven’t tried the revamp yet but now I have to go back.

My second favorite room after Curio. Terrifying in the best way and still a ton of fun.
