AI Overview

AIPlayers rave about the friendly staff, strong theming, and a big, immersive space. Scare intensity is adjustable on the fly, which helps in a very scary room. The automatic-failure mechanic is memorable and tense, though it can nudge some teams to hide instead of solve and makes the finale feel unforgiving. Difficulty trends high, especially for two players, yet most still had fun even without escaping.
WeaknessesAuto-fail on being caught and a one-shot, timed finale can feel punishing. Duos can struggle and sometimes feel the chase pressure disrupts puzzle flow.
StrengthsOriginal, engaging story with well-timed actor moments and jump scares. High-quality, varied puzzles and a spacious set make it feel like a full-on adventure.
SecurityYou’re briefed on the auto-fail rules and can dial down or disable scares before or during the game. That safety net lets nervous players continue without bailing.
Level of fearIt’s an intense, jumpy experience, but you can reduce or fully switch off the scares. Not ideal for kids or very nervous players unless you use that toggle.
Actors' gameA live actor drives tension and staff tailor the intensity to your comfort level. Being seen by a character can have consequences, which keeps everyone sharp.
Quality of riddlesPlayers highlight a broad, mostly fair mix that’s fun to work through. The late timed step raises stakes and can be harsh if you misplay it.
PlotA twisted fairytale: help the Millers outwit a nameless trickster in his lair to win back their daughter. The story threads through the space without heavy exposition.
Difficulty levelChallenging overall, best for experienced groups of three to five. Two players can manage but should expect tight time pressure and possibly more hints.

Excellent room with strong puzzles and an engaging plot, but the headline is you can turn the jump scares off—even mid-game—if it’s too much. We loved the automatic-fail twist; it kept us mindful of every action. We’ll be back to Deception.

Brilliant experience. Staff were kind and tweaked the live actor’s scares to our comfort, and the space feels massive and moody. Puzzles landed cleanly and the story pulled us through. We left buzzing.

The team were wonderfully friendly and adjusted the live actor’s scares to what our group could handle. Fresh story and a surprisingly large set made it a standout experience.

Our first Deception room and the theming and story were fantastic. The jump scares hit, and the auto-fail if a character catches you had us hiding more than solving at times—though I doubt they boot you instantly. As a duo we found it tough and didn’t escape, and I’m not a fan of the final timed, one-shot puzzle, but we still enjoyed it.

Loved the variety of puzzles and the fairytale twist. Only gripe: the end has a timed step that can end your run on one mistake, which stung. Everything else was tense in the best way.

The auto-fail rule sounds scary but it made us think strategically and it never felt unfair. We even turned the jump scares down partway and kept playing. Great actor work and a cracking narrative.

Atmosphere is stellar, but the chase elements sometimes overshadowed the puzzles for me. I appreciated being able to switch the scares off mid-game and the team were super understanding. Mixed feelings overall, but glad I tried it.

Went as a duo and got rinsed. The theming is top notch and the puzzles are smart, but the pressure to hide when the actor was near slowed us down a lot. Still had a blast—would go back with four next time.
