AI Overview

AIGuests rave about the sheer volume and variety of puzzles, many sending you outside to explore the holiday park. The lodge is consistently described as spacious, spotless, and well equipped, with lovely scenery and handy on-site facilities. Deb and Gemma get standout praise for warm hosting and quick, friendly help when needed. It’s immersive without being lock-in or scary, and people happily puzzle late into the night.
WeaknessesA few note the on-site restaurant is more snacks than a full dinner, so plan meals or cook in the well-equipped kitchen. On very hot days the lodge can feel warm, though hosts provided fans. If you want jump scares or live actors, this isn’t that.
StrengthsSmart, fair puzzles with great aha moments and a fun storyline woven through the lodge and grounds. Comfortable, clean accommodation in a peaceful spot, plus access to pool, gym, lakes and more. Flexible playtime until checkout means you can both explore Cornwall and dive deep into the game.
SecurityYou can come and go freely—this is a holiday lodge experience, not a lock-in. Communication is clear, help is on hand, and one reviewer noted it felt mostly accessible for disabled players.
Level of fearNot scary at all—no live actors, no lock-in, just a cosy home full of puzzles. Suitable for families and kids who enjoy clue-hunting.
Actors' gameThere are no live actors; interaction is through the hosts. Deb and Gemma are repeatedly praised as welcoming, responsive, and genuinely invested in guests having a brilliant time.
Quality of riddlesClever, varied, and fair, mixing indoor challenges with outdoor searches and satisfying logic. Trails can be linear or branching, and there’s plenty to keep enthusiasts busy for hours. Hints are available if needed, but many groups enjoyed pushing through without them.
PlotThe Carter Brothers stashed £1,000,000 in jewellery around the lodge and site. Your mission is to follow clues and crack puzzles to recover as much as you can before checkout.
Difficulty levelApproachable for mixed groups and families, but collecting the full £1,000,000 can be a solid challenge. Puzzle fans and seasoned escapers will find hours of satisfying work; beginners can take their time and still succeed.

Full disclosure: I’m affiliated with Dreadlock, but we paid in full—and it was superb. The lodge is cozy with an outrageous master bathroom, and the puzzles are varied, logical, and wonderfully immersive, including outdoor sections. As a disabled player, I found the site mostly accessible. Access to a quiet pool and gym is a bonus. We found the full £1,000,000 without hints and left buzzing.

Attention to detail everywhere, from décor to puzzle design. The experience blends indoor and outdoor tasks so the whole site becomes part of the game. The lodge was spotless and spacious, and on a sweltering day the hosts even brought fans—lifesavers. A brilliant birthday week.

We did a Dreadlock room before check-in and then basically spent the entire weekend puzzling. The lodge was clean, well stocked, and communication was spot on. The site has a pool, tennis, fishing, and a gym, but we barely looked up from the clues. Only downside: the on-site ‘restaurant’ is more goujons-and-chips than dinner, but there are plenty of local spots and the kitchen is great. Deb and Ge

This isn’t a 60-minute escape; it’s a full stay built around a treasure hunt. A comfy lodge stuffed with locks and clues, freedom to come and go, and a gorgeous park to explore. We loved the calm vibe and the creative challenges—just remember to sleep, because it’s addictive.

The lodge had everything we needed and then some. Tons of thoughtful puzzles kept us busy, plus a wander around the park for clues. Dreadlock’s rooms are a minute away, and we played all four—great themes and logic. Our hosts even slipped us extra envelope games. Couldn’t fault a thing.

Top-to-bottom quality. The lodge is stunning and fully kitted out, and the puzzle mix works for beginners through to veterans. Don’t rush—savour it. We were genuinely sad when we cracked the last box.

One of our most memorable getaways. Peaceful setting, high-standard finish, and a welcoming, spotless lodge. The puzzle threads are immersive with surprises tucked all over, and we just kept finding more. We genuinely didn’t want to leave.

Came for Cornwall, stayed for the puzzles. We kept saying “one more box” until 2 a.m., then did it again the next night. Cozy lodge, kind hosts, and a storyline that actually ties it all together.

One of the best escape experiences I’ve had. Smart clues, some that lead you outside to enjoy the park, and never a dull moment. The accommodation was spotless. I’m already hoping they open another lodge.

Brilliant stay. The lodge is spotless and cosy, the puzzles are clever without being unfair, and wandering the park for clues was a joy. Deb and Gemma made everything feel easy and special. We’re already plotting a return.

We started with a puzzle just to get inside, which set the tone perfectly. The lodge is bigger and cleaner than expected, with multiple puzzle paths and reasons to roam the campsite—pool, gym, and lakes included. We even popped into Dreadlock for an extra room. Can’t wait for the Christmas build.

As someone with 100+ rooms under the belt, this hit the sweet spot—variety, logic, and those sweet aha moments. No gimmicks, just good design in a gorgeous spot. Top-tier hosting too.

We loved the hunt and the setting, but heads-up: the on-site restaurant is more snacky than dinner, so plan food. That aside, we lost hours to great puzzles and still had time for a swim. Would happily book again.

Family trip win. Teens were hooked, we were up late chasing the last bits of loot, and the place had everything we needed. Clean, spacious, and the pool break between puzzles was perfect.

Great storyline, fun messages, and puzzles everywhere—I woke at 4 a.m. still turning one over. Plenty to do, yet we still explored the area. Absolutely worth it.
