About the escape room
A team of high-tech scientists and programmers have assembled to perform ground breaking experiments in developing the first instance of true artificial intelligence known to man. You have just been accepted onto the team of scientists and have arrived at their headquarters. After a few days you realise that scientists are suddenly leaving and that these robots are showing scarily human-like emotions. You decide that you need to leave as quickly as possible as something peculiar is happening, but all of the doors have been locked trapping you and the rest of the team inside. Can you all escape before you reluctantly become a part of the experiment?

AI Overview

AIPlayers consistently praise the unique theme, solid theming, and the smooth flow between puzzles. Staff and the GM get shout‑outs for friendly, timely guidance and a strong intro. Experienced pairs often escape right at the buzzer, while families sometimes time out. A few note sticky steps and that it’s not the top room at this venue, though still worth a go.
WeaknessesSome puzzles can feel sticky or a touch obtuse, causing stalls. A few players rank it below other rooms at the same location. Past mentions of maintenance tweaks suggest minor rough edges at times.
StrengthsDistinct AI storyline, quality mechanisms, and a satisfying mix of tech and classic logic. Helpful GM support and an intro that sets the tone well. Works surprisingly well for teams of two.
SecurityNo issues flagged in reviews; standard briefing and attentive monitoring from the GM. Nothing physically extreme mentioned.
Level of fearMore tense than scary, with no horror vibe reported. Family‑friendly for teens and up, assuming they like a bit of pressure.
Actors' gameNo live actors noted; interaction is primarily through the GM. The GM is praised for a strong briefing and well‑timed hints.
Quality of riddlesGood variety with an even split between tech elements and traditional logic. Generally fair and well‑clued, with a clean progression when you’re on track. Expect a couple of tougher steps that can slow teams down.
PlotYou’re scientists racing to escape an AI experiment gone sideways as the facility locks down. The narrative threads through the tasks without heavy spoilers or distractions.
Difficulty levelMid to challenging. Experienced duos can make it with seconds to spare, while newer groups may need hints and could run out of time.

We loved the near‑future vibe and the way the intro framed the mission. Puzzles chained together cleanly and the tech never felt gimmicky. Two of us squeezed out with seconds to spare thanks to one well‑timed nudge from the GM. Great fun.

Great room with a unique theme and a nice mix of puzzles. The mechanisms felt top quality and the flow was smooth. We’re experienced and still only just made it out as a team of two. This company is fantastic in Edinburgh.

Took my family; atmosphere was cool and the story made sense throughout. We did get bogged down on a couple of steps and ran out of time, but the GM kept us moving with clear, friendly hints. Solid room overall.

Did Machina as a Mother’s Day treat with the family and we all had a blast, even though we didn’t beat the clock. We stalled on a couple puzzles, but Stephen stepped in with helpful nudges and gave a great intro to set the scene. The theming is strong and the puzzles are good.

Tight, tense, and polished. The theming is on point, and the mechanisms are satisfying when they fire. As a duo we felt challenged without feeling lost.

Smart blend of gadgets and old‑school logic, plus everything looked and felt high quality. If you like sci‑fi themes, this one pops. Would happily play again with a different team.

Decent experience, just not my favorite at this venue. Flow was fine, but a couple puzzles read clunky and it didn’t hit the same highs as other rooms on site. Still worth a try if you’re clearing the set.

An okay room overall. We played it to finish the set at this site, but it was one of the weaker of the six in Edinburgh for us. Sounds like it’s had some maintenance since, so it may be tighter now. Fun enough, though there are stronger options here.

Had a fantastic time and the staff made it even better. Would absolutely recommend, and it worked really well for just the two of us.
