Overview of artificial intelligence

AIGuests rave about the imaginative decor, smooth flow, and welcoming hosts who tailor help without rushing you. It’s beginner to intermediate friendly; experts find it on the easier side yet still fun. Recent changes trimmed the game to 60 minutes and lowered the team minimum to two. Families and birthday groups, including kids around 12, had a blast.
WeaknessesExperienced teams may breeze through parts of it. A couple of notes mention light wear and one slightly out-of-place puzzle. Two players can find it tight on time, though doable.
StrengthsSet design feels truly magical, with clear signposting and a satisfying, non-linear structure. Staff are consistently praised by name for friendly, on-point support. The objectives are clear and the room maintains its quality well despite its age.
SecurityBriefings are clear and game masters keep a close eye, stepping in if you’re about to force something. No safety red flags surfaced in reviews.
Level of fearNot scary and very kid-friendly; 12th birthday groups loved it. Expect wonder, not jump scares.
Actors' gameHosts like Claudia, Chris, Molly, and Faye get shout-outs for warm energy, timely nudges, and asking how you prefer clues. Interaction feels attentive without being intrusive.
Quality of riddlesPuzzles are logical, fair, and varied, with some neat magical mechanisms and good signposting. The gameplay is largely non-linear with a clear end goal. One puzzle occasionally feels off-theme but doesn’t derail the fun.
PlotYou’re trainees at a Scottish school of magic, learning spells and potions, competing across clans, and pushing back dark forces. Finish strong to graduate as a witch or wizard.
Difficulty levelBest for beginners and intermediates; enthusiasts may find it gentler but enjoyable. Duos can finish with careful focus, though it may feel tight on time.

I adored this room—and Molly, our guide. We chatted about our win streak and her own competitive streak, and she matched our vibe perfectly. She asked how we wanted help and kept a close eye, even catching moments where we might have forced something. The theme and gameplay were a blast, the decor absolutely sings in one section, and only one puzzle felt a little off but didn’t hurt the experience

Second visit to Locked In and we chose Glasgow School of Magic—honestly, it felt otherworldly. The creativity poured into it is unreal, and Claudia was so friendly and on it. My kids adored it for my daughter’s birthday, and we’ll be back when the new rooms open.

Loved the non-linear layout and how clearly the next steps were signposted. We were a duo and squeaked out with 3 minutes left, heart pounding. The magic effects are cute and the vibe is cozy-fantasy in the best way.

This room was recently shortened to 60 minutes from 90 and now runs with a minimum of two players rather than the four it used to recommend. I played with another experienced escaper and we enjoyed the non-linear feel and clear objective. Smaller enthusiast teams and newcomers should get a lot from it.

Good fun but a bit worn in a couple of corners, and one puzzle felt off-theme to me. Staff were lovely and the game flows cleanly. Better for first-timers than veterans, I think.

We booked the magical room for my son’s 12th, and Claudia was fantastic—supportive, unhurried, and spot-on with hints. It made for a genuinely magical day. Thank you!

As an enthusiast, I found it a touch easy, but the set is beautiful and the flow is spot on. Faye was a stellar GM and made the whole thing feel effortless. Still very worth a visit.
