Company The Great Escape Game

Loved the theme and there are some genuinely clever puzzles, but we fought the low light for most of the game. A lamp only arrived in the last minutes and we were told guests keep breaking them, which explains a lot. Also missed a side unlock at the start due to weak signposting and kept reworking the same step. Clearer cues would help.

We came wary after mixed comments and left happily surprised. The blindfolded intro drops you straight into a pitch-black start, phones as torches, and the switching lights subtly guide you room to room with smart on-theme puzzles. Big shout to Khad and Liam for sharp hosting—felt watched in the best way.

Great-looking room with a few slick puzzles, but the prerecorded hints didn’t address what we were stuck on. There’s unexpected crawling, and we finished without realizing we were done.

Took a netball team with a few first-timers and chose the softcore version; we were still hooded, wrists tied, and tossed into a room to start. The atmosphere was great, the puzzles gentle, and it’s clearly more about the fright. We escaped and stayed friends.

Totally bonkers: hoods, zipties, heavy manhandling, and one person ended up duct-taped. People were screaming and even sprinting to the toilets. Excellent for scares and a solid escape overall, and not being fixed to a wall felt safer in a fire situation.

Relentless opener, killer atmosphere, and the actor work is savage in the best way. I left buzzing and a little shaky—exactly what I wanted from a horror room.

Clever tasks and a couple of satisfying aha moments, just tougher than average. Definitely bring people who communicate well; solo heroes won’t carry this one.

Beautifully themed from the first step in, and the puzzles actually make sense for a haunted house. A couple of reveals gave me goosebumps. Solid production, smooth flow, would do again.

Not ideal if you’re claustrophobic. I couldn’t manage one of the crawl spaces and ended up stuck in the first area while my team moved on—staff were kind, but it dampened the fun for me.

Production value is high and the theme holds up, but the prerecorded clues were vague for what we needed. We also weren’t sure when we had officially finished, which took the wind out of the finale a bit.
